Gyutos are likely the most versatile knives in our portfolio. The term Gyuto translates to “cow sword” due to ease of protein slicing resulting from the meat cutting bias, longer European blade design, and forward balance. The longer blade design allows for longer slicing strokes, reducing work, and the profile angle permits “rocking” for fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Splitting long veggies like carrots or scallions is effortless with the pointed tip and multi-technique capability. Crushing cloves of garlic is easily done with the large, flat blade.
